About Me

Looking for an Architect?
Whether you are planning to build your new Dream Home, or simply wish to extend an existing property, you are very welcome to browse through my portfolio of completed projects. I hope it will give you some idea of the range of work that I handle.
Work in hand includes one-off housing, extensions, wheelchair access to the Augustinian Church in Drogheda, change of use of retail units to take-away restaurants in Swords and Dublin, and the design of an animal rescue centre for Drogheda Animal Rescue.
As well as the actual design work and site inspections, I carry out property surveys and provide Opinions on Compliance with Planning Permission and Building Regulations. I also do snag lists for clients purchasing new properties, and mark up sites on Ordnance maps for Land Registry purposes. I have successfully handled a large number of planning applications for clients who have to comply with Local Needs requirements in rural areas. I have also prepared successful applications for several clients that helped them to procure permission for retention of various kinds of development including change of use to commercial.
Here are my credentials:

  • I am a registered Architect.
  • I qualified with a degree in Architecture from UCD in 1969.
  • I am a Fellow of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland, having been a member since 1967.
  • I have professional Indemnity Insurance. This also means that I can sign off work for stage payments - very important, as the banks will only accept suitably qualified and insured professionals to carry out this role.
  • I have been in private practice as an architect in the Drogheda area for over ten years, following on extensive experience gaining while working for various Dublin architects. This included projects of all kinds, including schools, hospitals, offices and retail units, as well as residential.
